Mr. Byron Keith Sharp, age 83 years of Newaygo, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Monday morning, February 5, 2018. He was born on July 21, 1934 in Grant, Michigan to Byron & Elsie Marie (Lesley) Sharp. He was a US Army Veteran and was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. Byron was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont, he had been employed at Gerber Products Company for 38 years until his retirement in 1994, and he was a member of Local 530. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, & camping. On November 14, 1981 he married Marilynn Deters Tyink and she survives him along with 7 children: Wayne & Sheryl Sharp, Brian & Mindy Sharp, Pamela & Edward Page, Cindy Collins, Kirk Tyink, Doug Tyink, Scott & Robin Tyink; many grandchildren & great grandchildren; 1 brother, Virgil & Sandy Sharp; 2 sisters: Vivian & Luther Williams, Stella Wagoner; special niece, Marie & Roger Hubbard; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: LaNore Deters, Lew & Edie Deters, Rich & Janet Deters, Dan & Carol Deters, Andrew Deters, Steve & Joan Deters, Sheryll & Chuck Russell; and many other nieces & nephews. Byron was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Sharp; son, Michael Sharp; granddaughter, Rachel Sharp; parents, Byron & Elsie Sharp; brother, Clifford Sharp; sisters: Bonnie Christensen, Donna & Frank Shull; half-brothers: Bernard, Stanley, & Vernon Rose; & brothers-in-law: Otis Wagoner & Robert Deters. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont (721 Hillcrest Drive) with Rev. Drew Sweetman officiating. Visitation will be at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, & from 10-11 AM on Thursday at the church. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont. Suggested Memorials: The First Christian Reformed Church Endowment Fund at the Fremont Area Community Foundation, or Hospice of Michigan - Newaygo County.
