Carolyn R. Morby

The Soul of Carolyn R. Morby, of Fremont, passed from time into eternity on Wednesday afternoon, July 13, 2016.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard & Louise Morby, the "Innkeeper", her godmother Aunt Lucille & Uncle John Williams, and other family members.  She is survived by her special family, by her special nieces & nephews, and by many cousins including her Williams cousins.  She was blessed by many devoted friends including her very special friend, Judy Wolfe.  Carolyn first came to Fremont in 1956 as a staff member of the Evanston, IL. YMCA, Camp Echo located on Long Lake (old Ryerson Lake) East of Fremont.  She was an officer in the US Air Force, and retired from Gerber Products Company in 1995.  She was awarded a Bachelor of Arts Degree by Illinois Wesleyan where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma National Society Fraternity for 57 years.  She always enjoyed the learning process to improve her knowledge.  She studied at the University of Colorado, University of Wisconsin, the American University and New Brunswick Theological Seminary.  She was an active volunteer in the community, serving on the Gerber Foundation Board and in many other areas, including the Newaygo Medical Care Facility.  Friends may visit at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home in Fremont from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Friday, July 29, 2016.  A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Mamrelund Lutheran Church in Kent City, MI. (4085 Lutheran Church Road) with Rev. Leonard Dahlgren officiating.  Visitation will also be at the church from 10-11 AM on Saturday, and a luncheon will immediately follow the funeral service at the church.  Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.  In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to consider a memorial to Harbor Hospice of Muskegon (for their loving care for 4+ years!), Mamrelund Lutheran Church Food Pantry, or a charity of your choice.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
