Catharina "Kay" L. (Boes) Deur

Mrs. Catharina L. "Kay" Deur, age 94 years of Fremont, went to be with her Lord & Savior on Thursday morning, February 16, 2017.  She was born on July 2, 1922 in Reeman, Michigan to Derk & Jennie (Welink) Boes.  Kay had been employed by Fremont Christian School as a secretary & bookkeeper for 11 years until her retirement, and she was a charter member of Trinity Christian Reformed Church in Fremont where she had been the church organist for 25 years.  She loved to travel and knit, and she had been a volunteer for the HAGS at Gerber Hospital.  On December 21, 1945 she married Earl M. Deur and he preceded her in death on May 6, 2000.  She was also preceded in death by her son, Gary Deur; and by 2 brothers, Ben & Gerrit Boes.  Kay is survived by 2 sons:  Ronald (Kathy) Deur of Sacramento, California, Marvin (Sharon) Deur of Fremont; 5 grandchildren:  Brent (Rebecca) Deur, Sarah (Kurt) Livermore, Rachel Terpstra, Martin (Stephanie) Deur, Aaron (Kayne) Deur; 10 great grandchildren; and 1 sister-in-law, Win (Harold) Kolk of Fremont.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Trinity Christian Reformed Church in Fremont (539 E. Pine Street) with Pastor Ron Baker officiating.  There will be no visitation prior to the service, but there will be a luncheon & time to visit with the family at the church immediately following the memorial service.  Interment will be in Reeman Cemetery.  Suggested Memorial:  The Fremont Area Community Foundation for the Fremont Christian School Endowment Fund.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
