Charles (Chuck) A. LaNore Sr., 85, of Fremont, passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, May 16, 2017.

Born in Muskegon, one of eight children, Charles was born to Harry Joseph LaNore and Flossie Irene Keith LaNore on May 8, 1932.  He married Ellen Lydens Larson July 31, 1980 in Fremont. 

Charles grew up on the family farm in Fremont.  At 17, he enlisted in the Navy serving during the Korean War where he learned his skills as an Air Traffic Controller.  Charles in his retirement years was a golf enthusiast and lover of a good war story, classic western movies and corny jokes.  He and his wife Ellen have been faithful and loving servants at their church Redeemer Lutheran for many years. Charles was a man of faith and gave generously to many. He looked for opportunities to share the truth that Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal life, telling everyone to keep love in your heart as God is Love.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.

Charles is survived by wife, Ellen LaNore of 36 years; children, Charles LaNore Jr. and wife, Kim; Lisa Harrison and husband, Scott; Steve LaNore and wife, Gera all of Texas; Step-Children, Arlene Mansfield and husband Ron, David Larson and wife, Mary; Karen Roggatz and husband, Tim all of Michigan and siblings, Jean Olson of Ravenna and Mary Anne Hart of Dorr; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a large family of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 680 E. Main Street, Fremont, MI. 49412.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.

The immediate family of Charles LaNore wishes to express our sincere love and appreciation for those of our Michigan family and friends who called, sent cards and sat bedside with dad the last few months of his life. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
