Daniel Jay McCready

Mr. Daniel Jay McCready, age 76 years of Croton Township, passed away on Sunday morning, May 22, 2016 at his home.  He was born on June 30, 1939 in Erie, Pennsylvania to John Edward & Mary Jane (Bindas) McCready.  Dan was a US Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam Era, and he was a member of the Newaygo VFW Post #4249.  He had been employed by Gerber Federal Credit Union for over 20 years until his retirement, and he had served on the Croton Township Board of Review.  He loved trains, carpentry, and fishing.  He married the former Jill M. Butcher and she preceded him in death on November 16, 2015.  He was also preceded in death by his parents, and by his brother-in-law Bill Bromley.  Dan is survived by his son, Anthony McCready of Croton; by his daughter, Francine McCready of Fremont; 2 grandchildren:  Jordan (Maria) McCready of Loganholme, Australia, Trevor McCready of Fremont; 1 sister, Emily Bromley of Croton; 1 brother, James (Marilyn) McCready of Ocala, Florida; many nieces & nephews; and by his extended family, John & Judy Bull of Newaygo.  There will be a time of visiting with the family at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home from 5-8 PM on Thursday, May 26, 2016, and there will be no funeral service.  Interment will be at St. Bartholomew Catholic Cemetery in Newaygo.  Suggested Memorials:  The American Cancer Society, or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
