Duane M. Giffen

Mr. Duane M. Giffen, age 75 years of Hesperia, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Friday afternoon, June 17, 2016 after a short battle with cancer.  He was born on September 20, 1940 in Grand Traverse County, Michigan to Harvey & Alta (Parmer) Giffen.  Duane was a US Army Veteran, he attended Aetna Calvary Church, and he had been employed by Gerber Products Company for many years until his retirement.  On June 4, 1960 he married Thelma J. May and she survives him along with 4 children:  Larry (Cindy) Giffen of Hesperia, Cynthia Skuse of Hesperia, Pamela (David) Wakefield of Houston, Texas, Fonda Spaulding of Hesperia; 16 grandchildren & 10 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Lynn Giffen of Fremont; and many nieces & nephews.  Duane was preceded in death by 2 sons-in-law, Charley Skuse & Bernie McLean; by 1 great granddaughter, Nevaeh Gillette; and by 3 brothers:  Walter, Delbert, & Lyle Giffen.  The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 20, 2016 at Aetna Calvary Church (3944 W. One Mile Road, White Cloud) with Pastor Phil Jones officiating.  Visitation will also be at the church from 10-11 AM on Monday.  Interment will be in East Hesperia Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to Christian Horizons.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
