Earl Clair "Goofy" Shively, Sr.

Mr. Earl Clair "Goofy" Shively, Sr., age 62 years of Fremont, passed away with family by his side on Monday morning, January 2, 2017 at Spectrum Health - Meijer Heart Center in Grand Rapids.  He was born on May 7, 1954 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Harvey & Rose (Pogue) Shively.  Earl had been a truck driver since 1975, and he spent the last 18 years driving for MPH of Fremont.  He had been a member of the Fremont Moose Lodge #1555, and he loved to bowl, hunt, fish, and go camping.  On August 4, 1975 he married Marsha Kay Cumings and she survives him along with 3 children:  Earl (Michelle) Shively, Jr. of Newaygo, Angela (Chad) Brott of Howard City, MaryBeth (Nick) McDonald of Fremont; 11 grandchildren:  Cammie, Kelsea & Joe, Austin, Lance, Kylee, Carissa, Braiden, Allyssa, Seth, Jordon, & Travis; 4 great grandchildren:  Braelynn, Peyton, Serenity, & Carson; sisters & brothers:  Rosemary Estes, Michael Shively, Debra (Garry) Rottman, Linda White, Sally (Xavier) Perez, Jack (Nancy) Shively, Mark (Lyn) Shively, Patricia Shively; several brothers-in-law  & sisters-in-law; and by many nieces & nephews.  Earl was preceded in death by his parents; by his granddaughter, Hailey; by his sister, Katherine LaNore; by his nephew, Jack "Peanut" Shively; by his niece, Dawn LaNore; and by his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Arthur & Donna Cumings.  Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 21,2017 at Grace Community Church in Fremont (105 W. Sheridan) with Steve DeHaan officiating.  A luncheon and time to visit with the family will immediately follow the service at church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to the Shively family to help with expenses.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
