Mrs. Evelyn L. (Evy) Miller, age 86 years of Hesperia, passed away on April 9, 2016 on the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence. She was born on November 28, 1929 to Harry and Alice (Schuiteman) Ensing in Fremont, Michigan. On November 26, 1948, she married Jack U. Miller. She has been an active member of the Hesperia Presbyterian Church for 71 years, where she was an organist and pianist for over 55 years. She shared her love of music by organizing and directing the church's youth choir and her involvement in all aspects of music in the church and community. The many joys of her life were spending time with her husband and her family, traveling, music, cooking and baking. Evy will be remembered as someone who was easy to get along with, cared greatly for others and who deeply loved her husband and family.
She will be greatly missed by her surviving husband of 67 years, Jack; four children: Lynette (Alan) Daniels, Brenda (Randy) Welsh, Rodney (Cheryl) Miller, and Gregory (Dody) Miller; as well as her seven grandchildren: Kristen (Andrew) Worcester, Jolene (Brian) Paauwe, Wesley (Melissa) Miller, Jenalee (Justin) Zeerip, Jalayne, Calvin, and Chace Miller; great grandchildren Naleigh Paauwe, her namesake Evelyn Ann Miller, and Ryland Worcester; step-grandchildren Chad and Adam Welsh; step great-grand children Logan Paauwe, Trinden Worcester, and Mina Welsh; extended family members Elena (Benjamin) Harrison, Caleb Mason, and Levi Harrison; brothers Gordon (Louise) Ensing and Wayne (Barbara) Ensing; sisters Wanda (Jack) Bonham, and Carmen (Steve) Hren; stepsister Jane (Jack) Poolman; sisters-in-law Betty Seaton and Sally (Charles) Kempf, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home in Fremont on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at the Hesperia Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Daniel Anderson officiating. Interment will be at East Hesperia Cemetery.
