Florence (Nelson) Robinson

Mrs. Florence Robinson, age 96 years of Newaygo, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday evening, February 9, 2017 at her home.  She was born on December 4, 1920 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Walter & Beatrice (Helmer) Nelson.  She had been employed by O & A Electric (Great Lakes Energy) in Newaygo for 22 years until her retirement.  Florence enjoyed spending time with her family, and she especially enjoyed going to lunch with family and friends.  On September 6, 1938 she married Thomas Robinson, Sr. and he preceded her in death on February 26, 1991.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers & sister:  Edwin, Fred, Beatrice, Jack, Nels, Leonard, & by 1 infant brother.  Florence is survived by 2 children:  Tom & Sue Robinson, Jr., and Dolly & John Smith; grandchildren:  Brigitte (Mike) Zdankus, Trevor Robinson, Brian Robinson, Carmon (Jeff) Kolenbrander, Brad (Amber) Smith; great grandchildren:  Sosha (Chad) Davis, Jayne Robinson, Josh Zdankus, Braxton Smith, & Emberlin Smith; great great grandchildren:  Jaxon, Carson, & Jori; 2 sisters-in-law, Marilyn Nelson & Joanne Nelson; and by many nieces & nephews, and great nieces & great nephews.  A Memorial Luncheon and time to visit with the family will be held from 12-3 PM on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the Newaygo VFW Post #4249.  Interment will be in Newaygo Cemetery.  Suggested Memorial:  The Helen DeVos Children's Hospital.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont
