It was a pleasure to know your father through Laketon Bethel Reformed Church and by being his Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 19 in 1974. He was an excellent role model for me. In later years, I interviewed Hank in Fremont to include him in the Muskegon County World War II Veteran Project at which time he helped me include his two brothers also. Their tribute photos are on permanent display at the USS LST 393 Veterans Museum along with 6,000 others.

Hank was someone we all looked up to and could count on as a friend. We were blessed to have Hank share his life with us through the stories he told during our Scouting times at the church and around the camp fire. We will always charrish the fond memories of the times we spent with him! Our deepest condolences for your loss!
