Iris Lou (Tift) Hulst Davidson

Iris Tift Hulst Davidson, age 85 of Grant, passed away on Friday evening, September 8, 2017 at her home. She was born April 14, 1932 to Harold and Mabel Tift in Croton Twp. Newaygo Co., MI., and graduated from Newaygo High School.  In 1950 she married Herman Hulst ,and is survived by her children: Steve (Jacque) Hulst, Jan (Brian) Flanagan, Jim (Kim) Hulst.  Grandchildren:  Nathan (Amy) Hulst , Cynthia (Chad) Kohler, Elizabeth( Derek) Hendrickson and Jonathan(Rose) Hulst. Kara (Kyle) Nagelkirk, David Olson and Elisha.  Trinity, Gabrielle, Emily and Hallie Hulst.  Great grandchildren: Corbin and Carson VanAlten and Garrett, Gabriel, Judah, and Sarah Hulst, Caleb, Lucas and William Kohler,  Kharis, Carter and Kinley Hendrickson.  In 1977 she married Charles W. Davidson, and is survived by her step-children: Kirk (Cheryl) Davidson, Craig (Amy) Davidson, & grandchildren Charles A. and Katie Davidson.  Iris was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles Davidson,  sister’s Geraldine Longwood and Jean Holler, and grandson Aaron Hulst.  She owned and operated Tift’s Restaurant for 28 years, after that she lived on the Pine River in Wellston, MI. for 19 years, and then moved back to Newaygo County and resided in Grant.  While in Wexford County she was the Blood Drive Coordinator for Wexford-Missauke Counties, and she was also a member of the American Red Cross Disaster Team.  Iris was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Newaygo, she was a volunteer for Love, INC and she was a member of “Caberfae Ski Club”.  She enjoyed skiing, golfing, canoeing, camping, and dancing, and most of all doing things with family!!  A private family service will be held, and there will be a public luncheon and time of visiting with the family from 12-2 PM on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church Hall in Newaygo.  Per Iris's request, please do not send flowers, but rather consider making a memorial contribution to either St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Newaygo, or Hospice of Michigan - Newaygo County.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
