Mr. James W. Hower, age 77 years of Twin Lake, passed away on Sunday afternoon, April 22, 2018 at his home. He was born on June 16, 1940 in Muskegon, Michigan to Eugene & Rosella (Brown) Hower. Jim was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era, and he had been employed by the Knoll Group for 40 years until his retirement in 1999. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marilyn (Meeuwenberg) Hower; 3 step-children: Sheryl (Michael) Korstanje, Robert (Brenda) Hekkema, Jeff (Sue) Hekkema; 6 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, & 12 great-great grandchildren; and 2 brothers: Eugene (Diane) Hower, Jr. & Roger (Debbie) Hower. Jim was preceded in death by his step-son, Brian Hekkema; by his parents; and by his sister, Gladys Lozano. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Olivet Evangelical Free Church (6790 Harvey Rd, Spring Lake, 49456) with Pastor Craig Cramblet officiating. Visitation will also be at the church from 10-11 AM on Thursday. Interment will be in Twin Lake Cemetery. Suggested Memorials: Olivet Evangelical Free Church, or Harbor Hospice.
