Jean Frances Rought

Mrs. Jean Frances Rought, age 91 years of Fremont, passed away on Tuesday evening, January 10, 2017 at her home.  She was born on September 25, 1925 in Fremont, Michigan to J.F. & Lorna Anne (Ruggles) Bennett.  Jean had worked in the cafeteria at Gerber Products Company for many years until her retirement.  She had also been a Newaygo County 4-H leader, and a member of the Dayton Center Extension Club.  On March 15, 1946 she married Levirn Rought and he preceded her in death on June 5, 1977.  She was also preceded in death by her daughter Debra Ellen Rought on June 11, 1956, and by her sister Shirley Gordon.  Survivors include 4 children:  Richard (Linda) Rought of Fremont, Raymond (Carol) Rought of Forest Lake, Minnesota, Rosemary (Harry) VanderVegte of White Cloud, Carolyn (Jim) Brown of Fremont; 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; 1 sister, Eda Gordon of Muskegon; 1 brother, James (Janis) Bennett of Fremont; several brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, and many nieces & nephews.  The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 14, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Fremont (51 W. Oak Street) with Dr. Steve Witter officiating.  Interment will be in Jewell Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home from 4-7 PM on Friday.  Suggested Memorials:  Special Olympics Michigan Area 21, or Harbor Hospice.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
