John "Johnny" M. Stariha II, age 31 years of Fremont, was called Home by God to be with his loved ones that have gone before him on Saturday, November 18, 2017.  He was born on October 2, 1986 in Fremont, Michigan to John M. & Rose Marie (Deblock) Stariha.  Johnny graduated from Fremont High School in 2005, where he was 9th in his class.  He then went to Grand Valley State University where he graduated in 2009 with a degree in Health Professions and a minor in business.  Johnny wrestled from age 5 through college, and he received 2 national championship rings while wrestling with the Grand Valley State University Wrestling Team.  He also loved football, spending time with family, and polka dancing.  His love for the outdoors included hunting, golfing, farming, animals, & fishing, especially sucker fishing.  He also started the John Stariha Memorial Golf Outing to benefit the Fremont Wrestling Program.  Johnny had been a Lieutenant at the Newaygo County Correctional Facility for several years, and he was currently a supervisor for MPH Logistics.  He was preceded in death  by his father, John M. Stariha; grandfather, Robert J. Stariha; uncle Thomas Stariha; and cousin Jonathan "Jono" Krystiniak.  Johnny is survived by his mother, Rose Marie (Deblock) Stariha; 2 brothers:  Jason Stariha, Jeremy (Bonnie) Stariha & their 2 children Jaxton & Briley; grandparents: Hilda Stariha, Joe & Betty Deblock; and many other family members that he loved so dearly.  The Con-Celebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 27, 2017 at All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont (500 Iroquois Drive) with Fr. Sahaya Stanly & Fr. Peter Omogo as Con-Celebrants.  Visitation will also be at the church from 2-5 PM on Sunday.  Interment will be at Peaceful Pines Cemetery, the Stariha Family Cemetery, in Bridgeton Township, Michigan.  Suggested Memorial:  The Samuel Omogo Foundation for Water Wells in Nigeria.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
