Josephine "Judy" Wilbur

Mrs. Josephine "Judy" Wilbur, age 97 years of Newaygo, joined her Lord on Thursday morning, August 18, 2016 from Green Acres Assisted Living in Fremont.  She was born on January 5, 1919 in Randolph, Wisconsin to Samuel & Elsie (Steimsma) VanderWoude.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fremont, and she had been involved with the Mobile Missionary Assistance Program.  On September 21, 1965 she married Richard "Bill" Wilbur and he preceded her in death on May 31, 2010.  She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael; and by her sisters & brother:  Ruby Gravenstuk, Richard VanderWoude, & Bea Schuitema.  Survivors include 1 brother, Alvin (Marilyn) VanderWoude of Newaygo; several nieces & nephews, including her special niece Connie Scholtens of Grant; and her special family at Trillium Springs in Fremont.  The Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Fremont (51 W. Oak Street) with Pastor Steve Summerfield officiating.  Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery near Grant.  Visitation will also be at the church from 1:30-2:30 PM on Saturday.  Suggested Memorial:  The Fremont Area Community Foundation for the Josephine Wilbur Fund for Cornerstone Christian Academy in Fremont.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
