Leona Ethel Willis

Mrs. Leona Ethel Willis, age 102 years of Fremont, passed away on Wednesday evening, June 1, 2016 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont.  She was born on December 15, 1913 in Ransom, Illinois to Henry & Elsie (Redman) Bedeker.  She had been employed by Gerber Memorial Hospital for about 10 years until her retirement, and she had attended Fremont United Methodist Church.  Leona was an excellent cook, and she loved to crochet.  On May 5, 1934 she married Clifford L. Willis and he preceded her in death on January 16, 2001.  She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Bob Bacon; by her grandson, Rob A. Willis; and by her sister, Vera West.  She is survived by 3 children:  Barb Bacon of Fremont, Roland "Buck" (Marsha) Willis of Pennsylvania, Doreen (Richard) Schummer of Swartz Creek, Michigan; 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, & 11 great great grandchildren.  A Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 PM on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Johnson officiating.  There will be a time of visiting with the family from 3-3:30 PM on Sunday.  Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.  Suggested Memorial:  The Fremont United Methodist Church Educational Fund.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
