Lois Ellen Kolenbrander, age 88 years, 5 months and 6 days old, slipped quietly and peacefully from her bed into the loving arms of her precious Savior on Monday, February 19, 2018, at Fountain View Retirement Village, Grant, Michigan.

Lois was born at home in Mattoon, Shawano County, Wisconsin, September 13, 1929 to Harry Webb and Margie Jane (Pollock) Amerson. As their eighth child, she had three brothers and four sisters. They were later blessed with one more baby boy and another baby girl. After finishing high school in Wisconsin, she moved to Grand Rapids and worked at Keeler Brass, then moved to Hess Lake, in Newaygo. In 1973 she moved to Arizona and in 1992 retired back in Newaygo to be close to family. Even though legally blind, she proudly maintained her own apartment for 18 years before entering assisted living.

Lois is survived by her son, Paul (Rose) Kolenbrander and their children, Jeffery Paul (Carmon) Kolenbrander, and Tracy (Quentin) Maes; her daughter, Ruth (Chris) Jorgensen and their daughter, Jennifer (Christopher) Bedell; daughter-in-law Sherri Kolenbrander. She is also survived by grandson, John Louis (Susan) Kolenbrander and their children, Chelsea, Victoria, Caleb, Ryan and David Kolenbrander; granddaughter Melissa (Kevin) Hunter and their daughters Shontae and Lindsy; her sister Bertha Serio and many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.

Lois was preceded in death by her son, Louis John Kolenbrander in 2011; brothers Lysle in 1985, Harley in 1993, Stephen in 1992, and Paul Amerson in 2001, sisters Carrie Mosher in 2006, Ruth Tinsman in 2012, Rachel Lohonen in 2008, and Leah Jane Amerson in 1933.

She leaves behind many fond memories in the hearts of her loved ones.
