Mark Alan Scott

It is with great sadness our family announces the passing of Mark A. Scott on Thursday, November 9th, 2017 at the age of 68.  Mark married Donna (Thorne) on July 23, 1971 and has resided in Kent City, MI for many years.  Mark's life has been rich with family and friends and he was commonly known as "Mr. Nice Guy".  Mark served honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam War, and he volunteered as a Big Brother for many years.  He loved animals, and he was an antique car enthusiast.  Mark worked as a meat cutter at the Jenison Meijers for 40 years.  Mark was preceded in death by his parents, John Jr. and Jean (Hoad) Scott, 10 dogs, and brother in-law Robert Tanis.  Mark is survived by his wife Donna, pet Conway, sisters Pat Johnson, Paula Tanis, brother Dave (Judy) Scott, & several nieces and nephews.  According to Mark's wishes cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 16th, 2017 at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Johnson officiating.  There will be a time of visiting with the family 1 hour prior to the service.  Interment will immediately follow the service at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.  Donations can be made to Bellowood Rescue, 14643 Wabasis Ave, Cedar Srpings, MI., 49319, or to your favorite animal rescue.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
