Mildred I. (Bunker) Brooks

Mrs. Mildred I. Brooks, age 96 years of Fremont, went to be with her Lord & Savior on Saturday morning, December 30, 2017 from Transitional Health Services of Fremont.  She was born on March 29, 1921 in Muskegon, Michigan to Hugh & Pearl (Featherly) Bunker.  She was a member of Fremont Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Fremont Moose Lodge #1555 and Women of the Moose.  Mildred had also worked for Continue Care at Gerber Hospital.  On August 24, 1960 she married Cleon Brooks and he preceded her in death on December 31, 1979.  She was also preceded in death by her son Larry Strong, by her daughter Darlene Craner, by 2 sisters & 1 brother.  Survivors include 3 children:  Roger (Barb) Strong of Fremont, Richard (Wendy) Strong of Fremont, Pam Fassett of Punta Gorda, Florida; her daughter-in-law, Laura Strong of Punta Gorda, Florida; 2 step-sons:  Joseph Brooks of Holton, Jerry Brooks of South Bend, Indiana; and by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, & great great grandchildren.  The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Fremont Christian Church(Disciples of Christ) with Rev. David Dickinson officiating.  Visitation will also be at the church from 12-1 PM on Saturday.  Interment will be in the Spring at Sherman Township Cemetery.  Suggested Memorial: Fremont Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
