Phyllis I. (Tanis) Bushaw

Phyllis Irene Bushaw of Fremont, Michigan, age 87, passed into the arms of Jesus on January 19, 2018. She was born February 24, 1930 in Muskegon Michigan to parents Albert Tanis and Clara Rynberg.

She is survived by her four daughters and their husbands, Dawn and Steve Harlos, Caryn and Mike Johnson, Jill and Bob Vanderzel, and Holli and Rick Abbott, 14 grandchildren, Eric (Rachel) Johnson, Jenni Vanderzel, Rob (Heather) Vanderzel, Aimee (Bryan) Simons, Michelle (Justin) Weed, Rachel (Dustin) Dunneback, Ana (Nate) Kveene, Bekah (Jared) Doot, Josh Harlos, Jordyn Bushaw, Joseph Abbott, Tiffany (Jake) Steffes, David (Jordan) Abbott, Amber (Richard Dayson) Abbott. 29 great-grandchildren,  sister-in-law Betty Bushaw and several nieces and nephews. Phyllis is preceded in death by husband Theodore Bushaw, parents Albert and Clara Tanis, brother and sister-in-law Robert (Lorayne) Tanis, sister Luella Tanis, sister Geraldine (George) Jackowski, brother and sister-in-law Richard and Francis Bushaw, and brother-in-law Robert Bushaw.

Phyllis has been an active church member and prayer warrior her whole life. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Phyllis enjoyed camping, traveling, gardening, and playing card games with her friends and family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Phyllis’s family is very thankful for the wonderful care she received at Resthaven Care Center of Holland. Visitation will be held at First Reformed Church in Fremont (348 E. Main St) on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 2pm-4pm, with a memorial service immediately following at 4pm. A Luncheon will be served following the service.
