Ray Prins, Jr., DDS, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. He was born on September 26, 1927 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Raymond & Jenny (Engelsma) Prins. Ray was a US Navy Veteran of World War II, and he was a member of Trinity Christian Reformed Church in Fremont where he had served as a Deacon & Elder many times. He had been a dentist in Fremont from 1955 - 1993 with the exception of serving as a dental missionary in Nigeria from 1968-1977. Ray was an avid sportsman and he loved to fish & hunt. On August 10, 1951 he married Phyllis Groot and she survives him along with 4 children: Jan (Mark) Cichowski of Oak Harbor Whidbey Island, Washington, Raymond "Chip" (Julie) Prins III of Fremont, Julie (Brian) Poel of Jenison, Heidi Prins of Kalamazoo; 10 grandchildren & 21 great grandchildren; and 2 brothers: Pete Prins of Allendale, Jim Prins of Los Angeles, California. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Schippers. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Trinity Christian Reformed Church in Fremont (539 E. Pine Street) with Pastor Ron Baker officiating. There will be a time of visiting with the family at the church from 10:30-11:30 AM on Saturday. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.
