Richard J. Diekema, Sr.

Richard J. Diekema, Sr., 55 of Naples, Maine, died tragically on November 27, 2016.  He was born in Fremont, Michigan on April 23, 1961, a son of Dick and Sandra Diekema, attended Michigan schools and graduated from Fremont High School in 1980.  He went on to graduate from Denver Automotive and Diesel in Colorado.

Richard worked for 30 years as a Service Technician at Reynolds Motorsports in Buxton.  Even though it was his job, he loved working on motorcycles and cars.  He loved auto racing and was an avid fan from Beech Ridge to Nascar.  He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.  He especially enjoyed the year he was picked for the moose hunt and indeed got a moose.  His two grandsons were the highlight of his life and spending time with them and the rest of his family was most important to Richard.  

Surviving are his parents, Dick and Sandra Diekema of Fremont, MI.  Three children, Tiffany Diekema Burt and husband Chad of Cornish, ME., Kristoffer Diekema and fiance Justin Hager of Norfolk, VA., and Richard Diekema, Jr. of Portland, ME.  Three siblings, Katherine Evans and husband Jerry, Scott Diekema and wife Karen, and Diane Smith and husband Thomas, all of Fremont, MI.  Two grandsons, Chad Thomas Burt and Silas Edrich Burt of Cornish.  Also many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as dear friends, Al Witham, Butch and Brenda Buzzell, and his work family at Reynolds Sportscenter.
