Robert "Tote" VanBoven

Mr. Robert "Tote" VanBoven, age 79 years of Fremont, passed away on Tuesday morning, April 19, 2016 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont.  He was born on October 5, 1936 in Griffith, Indiana to Bert & Alice (Bakker) VanBoven.  Tote had owned & operated VanBoven Welding for 13 years until his retirement in 1999.  Prior to owning VanBoven Welding, he resided in Ripon, California where he worked in the Almond Industry.  After his retirement, he enjoyed helping out at the VanBoven Dairy.  On June 28, 1963 he married Sally A. Meeuwenberg and she preceded him in death on March 30, 2009.  He was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard VanBoven in 2005.  Tote is survived by 2 children:  Lori (Mark) Bainbridge of Fremont, Jim (Ericka) VanBoven of White Cloud; 7 grandchildren:  Jeremy VanBoven, Christopher Bainbridge, Vanessa Pedersen, Jessica Bainbridge, Justin VanBoven, Sarah Bainbridge, & Tyler VanBoven; 2 great granddaughters, June & Jenny; sisters and brothers:  Elsie Mulder of California, Ben (Rita) VanBoven of Fremont, George (Sheri) VanBoven of Washington, Ken (Elaine) VanBoven of California, Stan (JoAnne) VanBoven of California, Joyce (Woody) VanVuren of California, and  Judy (Irv) Baker of California.  The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 22, 2016 at Second Christian Reformed Church in Fremont (600 Apache Drive) with Pastor Stan Sturing officiating.  Interment will be in Sherman Township Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. from 1-3 & 6:30-8:30 PM on Thursday.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of your choice.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
