Stanley Hartger

Mr. Stanley Hartger, age 94 years of Fremont, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday morning, March 23, 2017 from his home.  He was born on June 2, 1922 in Fremont, Michigan to Henry & Katie (Lodwyke) Hartger.  He was a US Army Veteran of World War II, and he had been an active member of First Reformed Church in Fremont.  Stan had worked for Hartger & Sons Excavating for 30 years until his retirement in 1971, and then became the First Reformed Church Custodian for 32 years until his retirement in 2005.  On July 20, 1946 he married Arleen Crawford and she survives him along with 1 son:  Douglas (Kathy) Hartger of Fremont; 3 grandchildren:  Trisha (Chad Moore) Hartger, Steven Hartger, Kent (Jessica) Hartger; 5 great grandchildren:  Kayleigh Hartger, Taydra & Christopher Everding, Drake & Jaxson Hartger; 1 great great granddaughter, Oakley Hunter; 1 sister-in-law, Beatrice Hartger; 1 brother-in-law, Kenneth VanBuskirk; and many nieces & nephews.  Stan was preceded in death by his brothers:  Gerritt, George, & Willis "Bill" Hartger; and by his sisters:  Dorothy DeWitt, Mildred Shoup, and Connie VanBuskirk.  The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 27, 2017 at First Reformed Church in Fremont (348 E. Main Street) with Pastors Kevin Schutt & Ron Workman officiating.  Visitation will also be at the church from 2-5 PM on Sunday.  Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in  Fremont.  Suggested Memorial:  Spectrum Health Hospice.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
