William Joseph Tice

Mr. William Joseph Tice, age 83 years of Hesperia, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 4, 2017 at his home.  He was born on October 14, 1933 in Fremont, Michigan to Watson & Levada "Lula" (Pickens) Tice.  He had been employed by Westran in Muskegon for 23 years, and he was a master mechanic and had his own business in White Cloud.  He had been a visitation pastor at Rice Lake Baptist Church & Country Bible Church, and he had been involved in jail ministry & nursing home ministry.  He was a volunteer driver for Newaygo County Commission on Aging, and he had taught himself to play the harmonica & guitar.  On October 15, 2004 he married Shirley DeVaney and she survives him along with 3 children:  Florenda "Flo" Coleman, Fonda (Jim) Shupper, Billie Jo (Patrick) Perry; step-children:  Berniece (Robert) Judd, Timothy (Laura) White, Deborah (Donald) Fernald; many grandchildren & great grandchildren; his former wife, Alma Tice; 2 brothers:  Perry "Bud" (Donna) Tice, Bernard "Bernie" (Angie) Tice; and 1 sister, Lenora Bowman.  He was preceded in death by his brothers:  Pete, Wayne "Emmery", & Jerry Tice; and by his sisters:  Viola, Bessie, & Gloria. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home with Pastor Mike King officiating.  Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 10-11 AM.  Interment will be in Sherman Township Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to the funeral home to help with expenses.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
