Barbara Ellen (Lambers) Smith

Mrs. Barbara Ellen Smith, age 88 years of Fremont, passed away on Friday evening, January 12, 2018 at Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial in Fremont.  She was born on August 20, 1929 in Fremont, Michigan to Lambert & Minnie (Timmer) Lambers.  Barbara had worked for the Newaygo County Foster Grandparent Program through Head Start, and she was a member of Church of the Living Christ in Fremont.  She married Donald C. Smith and he preceded her in death, along with her brother Larry Lambers.  Barbara is survived by 6 children:  Carol (Dan) Deters of Grant, Nancy (David Lockhart) Smith of Holton, Robert Smith of Fremont, Kathi Smith of Hesperia, Jon Smith of Fremont, Rodney Smith of Hesperia; 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, & 1 great great granddaughter; 1 sister, Sharon (Dave) DeKryger of Fremont; and 2 brothers-in-law, Valmond & Raymond Smith both of Fremont.  There will be no visitation or service, and interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
