Mrs. Connie Bauman, age 78 of Newaygo & formerly of Manistee, passed away on Saturday evening, December 14, 2019 at the Newaygo County Compassion Home in White Cloud. She was born on August 4, 1941 in Filer City, Michigan to Alexander & Angeline (Filut) Poliski. Connie had been an LPN at West Shore Hospital in Manistee and at Transitional Health Services of Fremont. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Newaygo, and she loved to play golf. On August 5, 1961 she married Jack J. Bauman and he survives her along with 3 children & 5 grandchildren & 1 great granddaughter: Steve (Mini) Bauman of Gaylord, MI. & their children Elizabeth (Dustin) Mastej & Cole Bauman, Jackie (Tom) Schultz of Newaygo, MI. & their children Aaron Schultz & Erica (fiancé Kevin Pegley) Schultz, Tom (Selena) Bauman of Atlanta, GA., their daughter Alex (Taylor) Peebles & their daughter Blakely Peebles. Connie was preceded in death by her brother, Brother Daniel Poliski OFM. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Newaygo with Fr. Steve Geerling as Celebrant. There will also be a time of visiting with the family at the church from 10-11 AM on Saturday. Interment will be in Garfield Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to Guardian Angels Historic Preservation Project in Manistee, MI., or the Newaygo County Compassion Home.
