Daniel Robert Ruggles

Mr. Daniel Robert Ruggles, age 53 years of Grand Rapids & formerly of Newaygo, passed away on Monday evening, August 13, 2018 at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital in East Grand Rapids, Michigan.  He was born on March 25, 1965 in Fremont, Michigan to Robert & Grace Ann (Boeskool) Ruggles.  Daniel graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy in 1983, he attended Central Michigan University, and he was a member of the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Music Fraternity.  He had been a member of the West Shore Symphony, the Grand Rapids Symphonic Band, and the Pit Orchestra for the Grand Rapids Civic Theater.  He had also played at the Baroque on Beaver Island Festival, he taught private music lessons, and he had been an adjunct music faculty member at Cornerstone University.  Daniel is survived by his father, Robert Ruggles of Newaygo; by his brother, John & (Jennifer) Ruggles of Indianapolis, Indiana & their children Andy, Cameron, & Cate.  He was preceded in death by his mother Grace Ann Ruggles, and by his dog Papi.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home with Lester Hall officiating.  There will also be a time of visiting with the family at the funeral home from 10-11 AM on Saturday.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to either Baroque on Beaver or to the Interlochen Arts Academy.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
