Dominic Chiapetta

Mr. Dominic Chiapetta, age 96 of Fremont, MI., & formerly of Chicago, IL. & Boca Raton, FL., went to Heaven on Saturday morning, December 14, 2019.  He was born on June 5, 1923 in Rende, Italy to Carmine & Emelia (Serpe) Chiappetta.  His family immigrated to the United States when he was 6 years old. His first job in banking was with Chicago Title and Trust, and then he began his career with Standard Federal Savings and Loan in Chicago in 1952, where he started out as a Loan Officer. He especially worked to help immigrants like himself with a loan so they would be able to own their own homes. He retired in 1992 as the Senior Vice President and also served on their Board of Directors and continued to serve as a Consultant for a few years after his retirement. He loved God, his family, his country, and his community and  loved spending time with his daughters and their families.  He also enjoyed exercising, walking, & doing paperwork.  Dominic had attended Boca Community Church in Boca Raton, FL., and he was a US Army Veteran of World War II.  On May 8, 1948 he married Sophia Sue Tarando and she preceded him in death on May 3, 2017.  He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Esther Nania & Jill Consiglio.  Dominic is survived by 2 daughters:  Sharon (Nick) Nicholas of Fremont, MI., Cindy Chiapetta of Odessa, FL.; 4 grandchildren:  Steve (Mychelle) Nicholas, Christy (John) McSorley, Nicole (Edward) Burke, Danielle Loftus; 5 great grandchildren:  Austin Nicholas, Cameron (Janelle) Nicholas, Katie Nicholas, Gianna & Edward Burke III; and by several nieces & nephews.  The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Johnson officiating.  Visitation will also be on Saturday from 10-11 AM, and interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
