Edward A Lockwood

Mr. Edward A Lockwood, age 91 years of Fremont, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Sanctuary at McAuley in Muskegon.  He was born on February 7, 1927 in Remus, Michigan to Archie & Edna (Sheets) Lockwood.  Ed had been employed by Gerber Products Company for 42 years until his retirement in 1987, and he had served on the Gerber Federal Credit Union Board for over 30 years.  He was a member of Trinity Christian Reformed Church in Fremont, and he was formerly a member of Fremont United Methodist Church for many years.  Ed had been an avid golfer & bowler.  On June 18, 1949 he married Sarah "Elaine" Bayle and she preceded him in death on March 23, 2005.  On May 7, 2011 he married Carol Dix Howell and she survives him along with 3 children:  Diane (George) Mazurek of Muskegon, Dan (Tammy) Lockwood of Fremont, Deena (Bruce) Wood of Greenville; 2 step-sons:  Robert Howell of Lasing, MI., Richard (Rachel) Howell of Hartland, Maine; 13 grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Jessie (Bill) Rose of Fremont; brother-in-law, Murray Johnson of Hesperia; and by his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Richard & Beryl Dix of Hesperia.  Ed was also preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Johnson.  The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Baker officiating.  Visitation will also be on Thursday from 12-1 PM.  Interment will be in East Hesperia Cemetery.  Suggested Memorial:  Bellwether Harbor.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
