Erma Louise (Howdyshell) Murphy

Mrs. Erma Louise Murphy, age 84 of Fremont, joined her husband Allen in Heaven on Thursday afternoon, August 1, 2019 from Green Acres Assisted Living in Fremont.  She was born on December 8, 1934 in Logan, Ohio to Clayton & Sarah (Lehman) Howdyshell.  Erma had been an active member of First Baptist Church in Fremont, where she had been the church secretary for 26 years until her retirement in 1996.  On September 4, 1953 she married James "Allen" Murphy and he preceded her in death on July 30, 2019.  Erma is survived by 3 children:  Pamala (Dean) Schuiteman of Fremont, Randy (Janet) Murphy of Arizona, Anita (Jeff) Lotts of Tennessee; 8 grandchildren: Brock (Erin) Schuiteman, Cheri (Bill) Hall, Kelsey (Drew) Nelson, Matthew Lotts, Alyssa (Troy) French, Abbie Lotts, Blake Murphy, Lynne (Patrick) Buck; 8 great grandchildren: Kai and Asa Schuiteman, Arie, Anson, Rhys & Carys Hall, Reid and Beck Nelson.  She is also survived by 2 sisters:  Yvonne Chartier of Newaygo, Susie (Tom Robinson) Henderson of Newaygo; 1 brother, Louis (Linda) Howdyshell of Indiana; and by several nieces & nephews.  A Joint Funeral Service for Erma & Allen will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, August 5, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Fremont with her son, Randy Murphy, officiating.  Visitation will also be at the church from 10:30-11:30 AM on Monday.  Interment will be in Sherman Township Cemetery.  Suggested Memorial:  Called to Obedience Ministries.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
