Mr. Frank DeVos, age 100 of Holton, peacefully went Home to be with his Lord & Savior on Monday morning, March 5, 2018 from the Allendale Nursing Home. He was born on January 11, 1918 in New Era, Michigan to Foeke (Frank) & Tjamkje (Jennie Ploegstra) DeVos. Frank was a US Army Veteran of World War II, and he had owned & operated Holton Feed and Coal until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of First Reformed Church in Fremont for over 60 years, where he had served as an Elder, Vice President, Sunday School Teacher, & Song Leader. He had also served on the Holton Public School Board, where he had been the President & Secretary. Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth (Sikkenga) DeVos on May 22, 2009; by his daughter, Marla Walley on February 23, 2003; by his sisters: Winnie VanDuinen, Sena Kyle, Reka DeWitt, Lena Heck, Hilda VanderWood, Annie Sweeney; and by his brother, Harold DeVos. He is survived by his daughter, Lynda (Carl) Tuuk of Ludington; son, Dennis (Pati) DeVos of Allendale; grandchildren: Ryan (Julie) Tuuk, Erin Tuuk, Season (Paul) Pycraft, Stephanie (Justin) Matarozzo, Jared DeVos, Emily (Tom) Gorman; and great grandchildren: Sydney, Samantha, Silas, Tessa, Adele, Leo, & Brooks. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at First Reformed Church in Fremont (348 E. Main Street) with Pastor Kevin Schutt officiating. Visitation will also be at the church from 1-2 PM on Thursday. Interment will be in the Spring at New Era Cemetery.
