Harley J. Hooker

Mr. Harley J. Hooker, age 85 of Reeman, passed away peacefully and went to be with his Lord & Savior on Wednesday morning, January 2, 2019.  He was born on August 19, 1933 in Fremont, Michigan to Myreenus & Helene (Bartels) Hooker.  Harley was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, and he was a member of Reeman Christian Reformed Church.  Through the years he had been a dairy farmer with his father, brother, & sons at Hooker Farms South of Reeman.  Harley enjoyed attending local sports events, especially those of his grandchildren.  On October 30, 1956 he married Arlene Windbacher and she survives him along with 6 children:  Cheryl (Allen) Postema of Fremont, Tim (Jody) Hooker of Fremont, Dave (Emily) Hooker of Fremont, Nancy (Steve) Bisson of Grant, Amy (Mike) Ensing of Fremont, Linda (Ben) Westgate of Fremont; 20 grandchildren & 30 plus great grandchildren; brothers & sisters:   Marvin (Geraldine) Hooker, Lou (Verla) Hooker, Les (Sylvia) Hooker, Corrine (Duane) Burt, Dale (Eleanor) Hooker, Barb (Stan) Witte, & Lloyd (Sally) Hoekert.  Harley was preceded in death by his parents; by his great grandson, Rhys Allen Postema; and by his sister & brother-in-law, Virginia & Carl Sneller.  The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Reeman Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Les VanDyke officiating.  Visitation will also be at the church from 4-7 PM on Sunday.  Interment will be in Reeman Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given Fremont Christian School.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
