Mr. Harold G. Visscher, age 96 of Grand Rapids & formerly of Fremont, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Friday evening, November 2, 2018. He was born on January 4, 1922 in Newaygo, Michigan to George & Fannie (Jansen) Visscher. Harold was a US Army Veteran of World War II, he had owned & operated a dairy & poultry farm until his retirement, and he was a long time member of Second Christian Reformed Church in Fremont. On May 7, 1948 he married Evelyn M. Nieboer and she preceded him in death on September 30, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his son Jack, and by his sisters & brother: Thelma Boes, Engbert Visscher, and Harriet Busch. Harold is survived by 3 children, 6 grandchildren, & 4 great grandchildren: Alan (Janice) Visscher of Grand Rapids, MI. & their sons Dan (Jenn) Visscher & their twins Anna & Will, Kevin (Rachel) Visscher; Carol (Karel) VanBaalen of Lacey, Washington & their children Ryan VanBaalen & his son Luke, Kari (David Um) VanBaalen; Gary (Siyroush) Visscher of Silver Spring, Maryland & their sons Gregory (Isis Hill) Visscher & their daughter Eva, & Christoff Visscher; brother-in-law & sisters-in-law: Al Busch, Elna Nieboer, & Betty (Jonas) Chupp. The family would like to thank the staff at Rest Haven Homes in Grand Rapids for their care of Harold during the past 7 years. The Funeral Service for Harold will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Second Christian Reformed Church in Fremont (600 Apache Drive) with Pastor Doug MacLeod officiating. Visitation will also be at the church from 10-11 AM on Thursday. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont. Suggested Memorials: Resonate (World Missions), Calvin College, or the Fremont Christian School Endowment Fund at the Fremont Area Community Foundation.
