Henry "Hank" Hopkins

Mr. Henry "Hank" Hopkins, age 90 years of Fremont, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Wednesday evening, November 16, 2016 from Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.  He was born on July 30, 1926 in Muskegon, Michigan to David & Alma (Long) Hopkins.  Hank was a US Army Veteran of World War II, and he had been employed by the Muskegon County Road Commission for 37 years until his retirement on August 1, 1988.  He was a member of Holton United Methodist Church, and he had been a dedicated Boy Scouts leader for 66 years.  Hank loved basket weaving, fishing, gardening, and he loved people and telling stories.  He is survived by his wife Mary Lou, who he married on May 26, 1989; his children:  Jan (Ted) Heim, James Hopkins, Margaret Hopkins, & Harold Hopkins; Mary Lou's children:  Kathy (Doug) Westbrook, Barb Nelson, Jan (Gary) Kartes, David (Debbie) Witteveen; 22 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, & 3 great great grandchildren; 1 brother, Lester (Marilyn) Hopkins; and many nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by his brothers, Homer & Robert Hopkins; and by his sisters, Ellen Petty & Ida Miller.  A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Holton United Methodist Church (9530 Holton Duck Lake Road) with Pastor Jerry Selleck officiating.  There will be a time of visiting with the family at the church from 12-1 PM on Monday.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the family c/o the funeral home to help with expenses.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
