Irene Delores (Goss) Hicks

Mrs. Irene Delores (Goss) Hicks, age 88 years of Bridgeton Township, went to be with her Lord & Savior on Monday evening, May 8, 2017 from the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont after having Alzheimer's Dementia for 4 years.  She was born on September 6, 1928 in Muskegon, Michigan to Melvin & Julia (Colligan) Goss, and lived her entire life in Bridgeton Township.  Irene was a caring person and enjoyed taking care of others.  She was married to Russell C. Hicks for nearly 50 years,and he preceded her in death in 1993.  Irene was the youngest of 4 children, and she was also preceded in death by her sister Hazel Stidham, and by her brother Francis Goss.  She is survived by her sister, Gladys Howe of Brighton, MI.; 6 children:  Francis (Ellen) Hicks, Delores Hicks, Judy (Michael) Morgan, Sue Piefer, Terry Hicks, Jay (Connie) Hicks; her son-in-law, Lyle Piefer; 17 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, & 4 great great grandchildren.  Irene enjoyed visiting and spending time gardening, and generously helping out neighbors, family, and friends.  She was loved and will be missed by many.  May she rest in peace!  The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the Kroeze-Woffis Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Force, Sr. officiating.  Visitation will also be on Thursday from 10-11 AM.  Interment will be in Bridgeton Township Cemetery.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
