Irene V. (Schutter) Wiersema

Mrs. Irene V. Wiersema, age 89 of Fremont, went to be with her Lord & Savior on Sunday afternoon, August 11, 2019.  She was born on June 28, 1930 in Montague, Michigan to Jacob & Janet (Alderink) Schutter.  Irene was a member of Trinity Christian Reformed Church in Fremont, and she enjoyed working in her yard.  On July 7, 1950 she married Bruce Wiersema and he preceded her in death on March 6, 2010.  She was also preceded in death by her brother Cal Schutter, and by her sisters Delores Schutter & Audrey Wiebenga.  Irene is survived by 4 children:  Larry (Jane) Wiersema of Fremont, Glenn (Cindy) Wiersema of Muskegon, Linda (Bill) Dame of Fremont, Chip (Linda) Wiersema of Fremont; 16 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, & 3 great great grandchildren; and by 2 sisters:  Lorraine "Ann" (Ed) Weesies, Elaine (John) Seaver.  The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Trinity Christian Reformed Church in Fremont with Pastor Ron Baker officiating.  Visitation will also be at the church from 6-8 PM on Wednesday and from 11-12 Noon on Thursday.  Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.  Suggested Memorials: The Fremont Area Community Foundation for the Fremont Christian School Endowment Fund, or Newman Church.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
