Mr. James C. Morse, age 79 of Fremont, passed away on Monday evening, February 25, 2019 at his home. He was born on March 1, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan to Clarence & Ruth (Steeby) Morse, he grew up in Bellevue, Michigan, and he graduated from Michigan State University. Jim was retired from Gerber Products Company, and he was a member of First Congregational Church in Fremont. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, golfing, fishing, and boating on Lake Michigan. On December 27, 1960 he married Jean Somers and she survives him along with 3 children: Michael (Karen) Morse of Galesburg, MI., Patty (Norman, Jr.) Knorr of Columbus, IN., Deborah Brinkman of Fremont; 7 grandchildren: Liz Morse, Will (Kate Menge) Morse, Norm Knorr IV, Missy (Adam) Zimmerman, Keleigh (Andrew) Schmucker, Jake & Josh Brinkman; 3 great grandchildren: Cooper Morse, Eden Zimmerman, & Ellinor Schmucker; 2 brothers: Jack (Sue) Morse, John (Darlene) Morse; 1 sister, Sally Morse; 1 sister-in-law, Carolyn (Thom) McPherson; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Andy Brinkman. According to his wishes cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at First Congregational Church in Fremont with Rev. Ray Dekker officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the church. There will also be a time of visiting with the family at the church from 11-12 Noon on Saturday.
