James A. Rose

Mr. James A. Rose, age 84 of Hesperia, passed away on Monday evening, August 26, 2019 at his home.  He was born on June 15, 1935 in Hesperia, Michigan to Montie & Lucy (Daniels) Rose.  Jim had been employed by SD Warren in Muskegon for 43 1/2 years until his retirement in 1997, and he was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Hesperia.  He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, camping, & quilt making.  He also loved his family, and was an avid Detroit Tiger fan.  Jim was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara May (Carrier) Rose, and by his sisters & brothers:  Lillian Millis, Blanche Whelpley, Mark Rose & Ray Rose.  He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Barbara J. (Douville) Rose; 7 children:  Effie M. Rose, Brenda L. Rose, Penny K. (Mike) Luce, Tracey R. (Rick) McGhan, Cherie T. (Tom) Vet, Tim W. Collier, Jim W. (Jennette) Whisenant; many grandchildren & great grandchildren; by his brothers & sisters:  Carl Rose, Lucille Wambaugh, Bill (Jessie) Rose, Dorothy (Wayne) Gibbs, Hazel Wolffis; and by many nieces & nephews.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 30, 2019 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Hesperia with Fr. Pete Schafer as Celebrant.  Visitation will be at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home from 5-7 PM on Thursday, and at the church from 10-11 AM on Friday.  Interment will be in West Hesperia Cemetery.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
