James "Allen" Murphy

Mr. James "Allen" Murphy, age 85 of Fremont, passed away on Tuesday morning, July 30, 2019 at Green Acres Assisted Living in Fremont.  He was born on March 22, 1934 in Troy Township, Michigan to Thurston & Leatha Ethel (Olds) Murphy.  Allen had been employed as a meat manager for Kroger, Plumbs, ValuLand, and D & W.  He was also an active member of First Baptist Church of Fremont.  On September 4, 1953 he married Erma L. Howdyshell and she survives him along with 3 children:  Pamala (Dean) Schuiteman of Fremont, Randy (Janet) Murphy of Arizona, Anita (Jeff) Lotts of Tennessee; 8 grandchildren: Brock (Erin) Schuiteman, Cheri (Bill) Hall, Kelsey (Drew) Nelson, Matthew Lotts, Alyssa (Troy) French, Abbie Lotts, Blake Murphy, Lynne (Patrick) Buck; 8 great grandchildren: Kai and Asa Schuiteman, Arie, Anson, Rhys & Carys Hall, Reid and Beck Nelson.  He is also survived by 2 sisters:  Donna Cheney & Maris (Thomas) Ford; and by several nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by 2 brothers:  Ira Arthur Murphy & Clyde Murphy.  A Joint Funeral Service for Allen & Erma will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, August 5, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Fremont with his son, Randy Murphy, officiating.  Visitation will also be at the church from 10:30-11:30 AM on Monday.  Interment will be in Sherman Township Cemetery.  Suggested Memorial:  Called to Obedience Ministries.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
