Jean (Opal) Henderson

Mrs. Jean (Opal) Henderson, age 87 of Fremont, unexpectedly went Home to be with her Lord & Savior, surrounded by her family, late Tuesday evening, June 12, 2018.  She was born on July 20, 1930 to John & Ruth (Wolford) Myers in Belmore, Ohio, and she grew up in this small rural farming community during the depression.  Jean was a member of Reeman Christian Reformed Church, and she had been employed by Gerber Products Company for 40 years until her retirement.  She had also been a manager at the Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Gift Shop, and she loved gardening, fishing, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  On August 12, 1967 she married Kenneth L. Henderson and together they owned & operated South Side Marine & Dunn Inn Resort in Fremont until Ken preceded her in death on August 24, 2016.  Jean was also preceded in death by her brothers:  Irvin, Paul, & Floyd Myers; and by her sisters:  Bonnie Chetister & Eileen Dunn.  Survivors include 2 children:  Carol Sue & Brian Frens of Fremont, Robert Radbone & special friend Pam Ashley of Spring Lake; 1 step-daughter, Diean & Bob Bayle of Holton; 4 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren:  Mark & Michele Frens & their children Maverick, Maddox, & Maguire; Meredith & Brian Schichtel & their children Brooke & Rebecca; Brittney & Jose Valdez, Johanna & Mark Grose; and by many nieces & nephews.  The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Reeman Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Les VanDyke officiating.  Visitation will also be at the church from 10-12 Noon on Saturday.  Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.  Suggested Memorials:  The Reeman Christian Reformed Church Building Fund, or the Fremont Christian School Endowment Fund at the Fremont Area Community Foundation.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
