Jeritza "Dee" Lou (Akers) DeCheney

Mrs. Jeritza "Dee" Lou DeCheney, age 76 years of Hesperia, passed away early Saturday morning, October 21, 2017 at her home.  She was born on July 29, 1941 in Muskegon, Michigan to Gerald & Varden (Aldridge) Akers.  Dee was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Fremont, and she enjoyed fishing, yard sales, and sitting on her front porch looking at the flowers in her yard.  On June 25, 1960 she married John E. DeCheney, Sr. and he preceded her in death on January 8, 2013.  She was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Craig DeCheney & John DeCheney, Jr.; by her sister, Sheila Huffman; and by her parents.  She is survived by 2 sons:  Gerald "Joe" (Linda) DeCheney of Grand Haven, Bradley (Sonya) DeCheney of Hesperia; 7 grandchildren & 17 great grandchildren; her twin brother, Jerrold (Donna DeCheney) Akers of Fremont; and her sister, Vanitta (Pete) Boody of Tennessee.  According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Hesperia (263 Elm Street) with Fr. Pete Schafer as Celebrant.  There will be a luncheon & time to visit with the family at the church immediately following the service.  Interment will be in East Hesperia Cemetery.  Suggested Memorial:  Christ the King Catholic Church.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
