Mr. Jerry L. Hoffman, age 82 of Fremont, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, July 8, 2019 at Transitional Health Services of Fremont. He was born on April 8, 1937 in Muskegon, Michigan to Roy & Henrietta (Swiftney) Hoffman. Jerry was a US Marine Veteran. He had worked for Gerber Products Company, and he retired from the US Postal Service in 1999 after 25 years of employment. Jerry had been a member of First Reformed Church in Fremont for many years, and he enjoyed bowling, golfing, going on fishing trips to Canada, coaching baseball, and going to watch his grandchildren play sports. On October 14, 1961 he married Norma Webster and she survives him along with 3 children: Thomas Hoffman of Montague, John (Korine) Hoffman of Henderson, Nevada, Dianna (Craig) Johnson of Beulah, Michigan; 9 grandchildren: Sara Hoffman, Melissa (fiance Alton) Hoffman, Nathan Hoffman, Tyler Hoffman, Jacob Hoffman, Hannah Hoffman, Mary (fiance Jon) Hoffman, Matthew Johnson, & Mallory Johnson; brother-in-law, Marv Deur of White Cloud; and sister-in-law, Melody Webster of White Cloud. Jerry was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Hoffman in 1963; by his son, Jeffrey Scott Hoffman in 1992; by his brother, Robert Root; and by his sister, Wilma. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 12, 2019 at Big Prairie Community Church with Pastor Arnold Guikema officiating. Visitation will be at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home from 6-8 PM on Thursday, and at the church from 10-11 AM on Friday. Interment will be in Big Prairie-Everett Township Cemetery.
