Joseph Albert Pokora, age 79 of Fremont, Michigan went home to be with his Lord and his loving wife Diane Marie Pokora of 51 years, on Saturday, February 16, 2019. Formerly of Grand Rapids and son of Albert and Bernice (Suchowolec) Pokora, Joseph was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather & brother. He is survived by his children: James (Mary Jane deceased) Pokora, Julie Grandy, Scott (Laura) Pokora, Cindy (Gary) Nestle; 9 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren; brother, Dan (Marie) Pokora; sister-in-law, Joyce (Bob) Austin; and several nieces. Joseph graduated from Grand Rapids Catholic Central in 1958, and he was active in the Boy Scouts of America achieving Eagle Scout. He retired from Monarch Hydraulics, Inc. after 30 years of service. He was an active member of All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont, and he was faithful and devoted to his family. Joseph was an avid woodcarver, outdoorsman, and enjoyed his retirement years at his lake home with family and friends around the campfires. He will be greatly missed forever. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 22, 2019 at All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont with Fr. Pete Schafer as Celebrant. Visitation will be at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home from 6-8 PM on Thursday where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 PM, and from 10-11 AM on Friday at the church.
