Mr. Larry Herin, age 75 years, of Hesperia, went to be with Jesus after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at Mercy Health-Mercy Health Campus. He was born on June 1, 1944, to Lloyd & Wilma (Mendham) Herin. He married Sharron Christoffersen on September 9, 1966, and she preceded him in death on August 17, 1990. He later married Suzanne Vos on July 14, 1995. Larry owned and operated Herin Builders, Herin's Home Care Center, Herin's Lumber Company and Herin's Auction Service. He had been a volunteer firefighter in Hesperia for over 20 years, as well as a licensed EMT for Gerber Hospital. He was also an inventor and a licensed patent holder. After retirement, he went to work at NCRESA as a teaching assistant for building trades. After his second retirement, he went to work for the Oceana County Sheriff's Department as a reserve officer. Larry had volunteered on the board of Habitat for Humanity. He also had a passion for raising and showing horses. Larry touched the lives of everyone he came in contact with. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Suzanne; Children: Lori (Shawn) Flock, Jill (Brett) Osterhart, Stacey (Chad) Williams, Monica (Chris) Flock, Troy Vos; Grandchildren: Cali & Orrin Flock, Preston & Lyla Osterhart, Aliya & Cohen Williams, Harlow Flock; Sisters: Jan (Ray) Fairchild, Sandy Fritz, Sherry (Jerry) Heckman; and many sisters & brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews & cousins. Larry was also preceded in death by his parents & brother-in-law, Dale Fritz. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 29, 2019, at Fremont United Methodist Church with Pastor Paul Hane officiating. Visitation will be at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home from 2-5 P.M. on Sunday. Interment will be in West Hesperia Cemetery.
