Larry J. Seng

Mr. Larry J. Seng, age 79 of Hesperia, passed away on Tuesday morning, June 18, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon.  He was born on May 21, 1940 in Muskegon, Michigan to Leo & Arlene (Veltman) Seng.  He had worked for Leo Seng & Sons Construction Company, and he had owned L.J. Seng Redi-Mix until he retired when he was in his 40's.  He then developed several sub-divisions, and traveled to 48 of the 50 States with his wife, Elaine (Smith), who he married on June 1, 1957.  She preceded him in death on January 31, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Sarah Chartrand; by his great grandson, Jace Maynard; by his brothers, Bill, Roger, & Ron; and by his sister, Peggy.  Larry is survived by 2 daughters:  Brenda (Paul) Kies, Lori (Matthew Bunce) Chartrand; 4 grandchildren:  Erika (Kevin) Maynard, Teresa Terebinski, Geoff (Staci) Kies, Meka (Kameron Reiffer) Chartrand; 11 great grandchildren:  Savanna, Trayton, Daelynn, Zander, Maverick, Tyler, Selaine, MacKie, Bentley, Cayxon, & Averi.  He is also survived by his sister, Sue (Bill) LeRoux; by his brother, Alan "Butch" (Kay) Seng; and by his special friend, Judy Snow.  The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Hane officiating.  Visitation will also be at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:30-2:00 PM.  Interment will be in West Hesperia Cemetery.  A luncheon will follow services at the cemetery at the Hesperia American Legion Post.  Suggested Memorial:  The Newaygo County Compassion Home.
