Mrs. Linda Marie Purcell, age 68, passed away on Saturday morning, November 5, 2016 at Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial in Fremont while in the company of her family.  She was born on March 29, 1948 in Traverse City, Michigan to John W. & Ruby I. (Prouty) Erickson. Linda had been an art teacher for Newaygo Public Schools for many years until her retirement.  She loved to cook for others, gardening, and she loved animals, especially horses and dogs.  Linda is survived by 2 children:  John (Rachel) Purcell of Phoenix, Arizona, Angela (Greg) Pummel of Newaygo; 2 grandsons, Ryan (Samantha) Huismann & Andrew Huismann; 1 great granddaughter, Lexi Grace Huismann; 1 sister & 2 brothers:  Joan (David) Robinson of Charlevoix, MI., Fred Erickson of Grant, Ron (Phyllis) Erickson of Fremont; many nieces & nephews; and many special friends.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Steve Erickson. Linda found her joy in life when she was surrounded by her family and friends.  She will be lovingly remembered as a caring and attentive mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  According to her wishes cremation has taken place, and a time of visiting with the family and luncheon to celebrate Linda's life will be held from 11-2 PM on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Newaygo United Church of Christ (432 Quarterline).  Suggested Memorial:  Love INC of Newaygo County.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
