Maxwell L. Jordan, age 95, went to his eternal home on November 15, 2019. He was born on March 19, 1924 in Fremont, Michigan to Leonard and Stella (Coil) Jordan. He was a WWII veteran who served in both the European and Pacific theaters, a farm implement dealer in Fremont, and Newaygo County Clerk from 1963-1984. He lived a life of steadfast faith in Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior, and strove to pass that faith on to others, especially his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a lifelong member of Second Christian Reformed Church in Fremont where he served numerous terms as elder and deacon. For some time he was also active in Bible distribution as a Gideon. He married Doris Deur on December 30, 1948, who predeceased him. He is survived by his three children: Carol (David) Jonkman of Grand Rapids, Bob (Susanne) Jordan of Holland, Janice (Rick) Pezoldt of Racine, WI; ten grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; one sister: Mabel Kolk of Kentwood, one brother: Lester (Marilyn) Jordan of Muskegon. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Gladys Oppenhuizen and Grace Deur, and his brother, Burt Jordan. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Second Christian Reformed Church in Fremont with Pastor Doug MacLeod officiating. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont. Visitation will be at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home from 5-7 PM on Thursday, and from 10-11 AM on Friday at the church.
