Richard "Dick" William Kempton

Mr. Richard "Dick" Kempton, age 74 years of Fremont, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at his residence. He was born on August 11, 1943 in Fremont, Michigan to William & Tammy (Hilton) Kempton. Dick had been employed by West Michigan Steel in Muskegon, CWC in Muskegon, as well as by Kurdziel Iron Foundry in Rothbury. On September 7, 1967 he married Nancy Furman and she survives him along with 2 children: Robert "Bobbie" Kempton of Fremont, and Lisa Hilden of Ludington; 3 grandchildren; 3 sisters: Colleen (Lenny) Halverson of White Cloud, Cheryl (William) Westbrook of White Cloud, Kelly (Lou) Pierce of Grant: by Nancy's siblings: Miranda Boyer of Ypsilanti, Ray (Pat) Furman of Shelby, Ken (Nita) Leosh of Grand Rapids, Chris Furman of Ravenna, and Cindy Hartger of Grand Rapids. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; by his infant son Gary; by his brother, Phil Kempton; and  by his brothers-in-law: Charles Furman, Norman Leosh & Ron Briggs. A Memorial Gathering is pending and will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to: The Newaygo County Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect.
