Mr. Robert (Bob) Otto Kinniburgh, age 96 years of Fremont, passed away on Tuesday morning, July 10, 2018, at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. He was born on January 7, 1922, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, to Hugh and Erna (Luescher) Kinniburgh. Bob served in the United States Navy for over 40 years, seeing active duty during World War II and The Korean Conflict. Bob later worked as a lineman and supervisor for the O & A, now Great Lakes Energy. On September 20, 1944, he married Geraldine "Geri" Slominski, and after the war, moved to Michigan. Geri preceded him in death on May 17, 2016. Bob is survived by his two children: Rob (Nancy) Kinniburgh of Newaygo, Kimberly (Brad) Bates of Chevy Chase, Maryland; seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, & nine great-great grandchildren; and his brother, Hugh Kinniburgh of New York. He was preceded in death by one great-great granddaughter; sister, Ruth Mills of Rhode Island; brother-in-law and sister-in-law George and Norma Slominski of Newaygo; and another sister-in-law, Tina Fowler of White Cloud. Military Honors will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018 at the Newaygo VFW Post #4249, followed by a memorial luncheon. Interment will be completed at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C.
